Thats the sort of FTL decision that is needed.	It allows for efficient
civilian trade and rapid transit of military resources in the rear
areas.

It also gives a focal point for space battles, as if you can capture the
jump gates, your resupply line becomes a lot shorter (and safer) than
having
to transit via normal FTL.
