   Sure, but then you can't use it either.  This rapidly becomes
identical to
 the case where you can shut down or lock the gate.  The scenario then
is the 
 other side coming through to stop you from getting the rock there.  Of
course,
 this presumes that the gate is small enough for you to be able to find
and 
 move a rock that can block it.
