You may have me there. I seem to recall them transported with the
windscreen down, and pointing forward held in place by a swingdown yoke,
but I witnessed them firing near dusk, with semi-crazed plexiglas bus
windows between. Not to mention I was teenager, many years ago. ;->=

I DO remember vividly watching those windows bow inward from the back
pressure.
