Hi All,
While we didn't have all the trimmings (solar systems, star
bases,
etc.) we ran an arena FT game using full sized plastic models at Dexcon
in NJ
a few years back. Both fleets had 12 ships. We had a Battlestar
Galactica
Fleet, done in orange with black tiger stripes vs. a Cylon/Star Trek
Fleet.
Both sides were supplemented with odd one off ships. A few were run of
the
mill stuff like an ID4 ship but others were quite fun like the Revell
classics 1950's spaceship concepts and flying saucers. We just
substituted
feet for inches and ran everything else as normal. One of the players
had a
bit of what I and the other GM called the Captain Kirk attitude and
tried to
impress everyone with his superior gaming knowledge. Despite his
"expertise"
he managed to fly one of his ships off the gaming area which ended up
costing
his side the battle. Everyone else seemed to have a fun time and we got
quite
a few spectators. If you can find a big enough space to do it in it's a
lot
of fun and an impressive game to show off to passers by. Just remember
to
bring a few heavy duty tape measures. :)
