Not to mention the blatant violation of intellectual property rights
(and thereby the laws that govern them, which are, to varying
degrees, applicable in all of our respective countries - unless we
have some lurkers from some of the Pacific Rim areas where copyright
laws are rather weak and poorly enforced). I'd hate to see list
members publicly engage in activities which could get them busted
(especially when we all know the NSA actually monitors all email
traffic with massive AI systems... and if it doesn't now, the NAC RSA
of 2185 certainly will and I'd hate to see the Flag Staff victorious
over the Hellspawn Kravak be dragged off in Force Manacles for
failing to maintain CommSec.....).
I'm sure we can all discuss what we think of as great music, and make
recommendations to each other about which music to buy, and maybe
about where to buy it. But I think burning CDs would be questionable
(all right, downright illegal). I'm not even sure that my own
practice of burning remixes from CDs I own is legal, although I'm
quite sure the artists already received royalties from the albums
from me since I did buy them.
Anyway, this is a games forum, and it does bring to mind the question
of what some of the National anthems in 2185 sound like...
I assume the NAC anthem is God Save The King. What about the OU? and
is FCT the last preserver of the Star Spangled Banner or is it
something like The Yellow Rose of Texas? (grin). What about the ESU?
Something Chinese? And the NSL (Neu Swabian League Uber Alles
perhaps? Or, as mentioned previously, something by VAG-ner?). And
what of the FSE? Le Marseille?
Just curious to solicit opinions.
Tom.
