I think so. The USS Cairo gunboat was one of the City Class gunboats.
They were named after small U.S. cities, not the bigger cities that
usually get a larger ship named after them. That would work well for
non-FTL NAC strike boats. There are a ton (tonne) of small cities in
Britain, Canada and the U.S. that could be used for these things.
