If you were willing to reduce the 'turban' to a symbolic length of cloth
wrapped around the helmet a few times it should work OK. Or rework it as
a
Palestinian-style headscarf arrangement, fastened just inside the rim of
the helmet.

to turban shape then 'freeze' to protective, and hermetically sealed,
