Heating Oil, where does America get the majority of it's heating oil?

I once read a book on Australia and America and their military
relationships [non-fiction, honest ;) ] and in the course of the book
there
was a discussion by the author about what would send America to war.

The big answer in his opinion was heating oil, just look at all those
American cities with those large apartment blocks with central heating.
How
are they going to be heated in winter? Imagine all those people freezing

and the resulting chaos as they tried to stay warm, it's not as if they
can
go out and chop wood.

Sounds pretty destabilizing to me.
