Great idea, Beth!

Let's see...big, black, anthropomorphic, insect like creatures with acid
for
blood...

or

2m, bipedal, warm blooded, dinosaur like creatures that hunt in packs
and
have "problem solving" intelegence...

or

Voporial Bunnies

or

Enginees. Genetically engineered humanoids produced for "The Hunt". Now
the
competition wants to horn in on the action.

or...

G'day,

While watching a doco on an Indian wildlife park last night it struck me
tat
that would make a perfect setting for Dawgie like scenarios involving
dangers from all sides. Basically the Indian park guards had to shoot to
kill the poachers (who were doing the same back as a single rhino horn
is
worth more than the average Indian earns in a lifetime), but they also
had
to watch out for Rhino/elephant attacks (where they were only allowed to
fire in the air, so they wouldn't hurt the charging beast). I could
imagine
similar things on other worlds if there were a rare/valuable animal on
another planet. FT wise you could be trying to stop the poachers getting
in
our out. A similar kind of scenario could have you has quarantine
enforcers
stopping people getting onto/off the planet (and then at SG scale going
in
to get those who broke the blockade) etc.

Just some oddball thoughts

Cheers
