Hey, If you have a 15 to 30 ft tall alien, and you need to go hand to
hand
combat, you would need a mecha/walker (now ducking)<G>.

Seriously, for anyone who is writing mecha off, go back in time and ask
any
army officer before WW1 how much use a land moving armoured warmachine
would
be (remember, it was slow and the officers were brought up trained in
cavelry)? Untill the technology allowed it, and because of the machine
guns
and trench warfare, tanks were never invented because no one saw a need
for
them. And if you say there will NEVER be a need for walkers/mecha, or
the
tech will never evolve to a point where mecha can use certain technology
better than a tank, can you come round and chose 6 numbers on the
lottery
for me? <VVBG>.
