David is right, though. Early westerns (from the 30s and 40s) influenced
Kurosawa, who made Seven Samurai and Yojimbo in the mode of American
westerns.
The westerns that you cite complete the circle as American (and
Italian!)
directors were influenced by Kurosawa.
