Even on present-day Earth, peoples who follow Islam live in a fair 
variety of environments: Arabia, Afghanistan, Central Asia (pretty cold
in 
winter), Indonesia... Not to mention the emigrants to Europe or America.

Not all of these are IF territory, of course.
