Not the only problem with calendars on alien worlds. The various 
religious calendars are closely linked to earth astronomy. 

Easter is on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the 
spring equinox. Go figure that out for Epsilon Eridani.

The Islamic calendar has similar quirks. Thus the beginning of Ramadan 
is also linked to the moon. In such a way that it starts on a different 
day in Morocco and Indonesia.

And how should a devout Muslim turn towards Mecca for his prayers if 
Mecca is directly overhead ?
