I should note that my original suggestion example varied the 1" MU to 3
cm
for high tech (18% increase distance, 40% increase in range band area),
2 cm
for low tech (~21% decrease distance, 38% decrease in range band area).
I
thought the costs I associated with the MU differences were
commensurate, at
least for playtesting (I believe cost went with the square of the
percentage
difference in MU size), and I picked those just because they were
easiest.
With a marked-off ribbon, you could easlily make High tech MU's 1.1" and
low
tech 0.9"
