A good percentage of the contaminates in a bullet wound are comprised of

clothing fibers from the victim. The cloth is cut off by the projectile
and 
the bone, and may be found within the wound in layers of underwear and
outer 
garments. Patton insisted on his men going into combat in clean clothing

whenever possible.
