Seriously I dont play with walkers or mechs much but I can see them
having 
several interesting options. The being able to adjust their height is
one. 
Mobility over or through certain types of terrain is another. being able
to 
popup from cover to height for most conventional AFV's is another. But
as 
for being able to crouch it would be a standard option to save space in 
storage, like carrier aircraft, like wise for crew access/egress.
Perhaps 
the Dalek mentality would make them distain the use of cover this way.
But I 
think that after a few 'hammerings' they may decide that any combat 
advantage is worthwhile. They are obsessed, single minded and fanatical
but 
also ruthless, intelligent and as the good 'Doctor' has said 'the best 
technicials in the galaxy'.Buck
