How screens work

charged particle screen - works fine, but don't try to fire back through
it
with any of the weapons you mentioned - it'd disrupt outgoing fire just
as
badly. 

This sounds like a "masking screen". We talked about these as 1 charge 1
level screens for freighters and the like....
