It's quiet, too quiet....

1) The list has been quiet. I'm sure that will be short lived.

2) FT AAR:

This weekend, I introduced (with Tom McCarthy) two new players
(co-workers of ours) to the FT game (both of whom claimed to have fun).
The scenario was about a 1200-1300 point a side game, with one side
taking NAC and the other my NI. The OB for the NAC was 1 Victoria BB, 2
Furious CA, 2 Huron CL, 2 Ticonderoga DD. The OB for the NI was 1 Tel
Aviv BB, 2 Metzada CM, 2 Galilee Class DDs, 1 Peled Class DD. The NAC
featured a higher average thrust, heavier hulls, and a lot less beam
dice. The NI featured weak hulls, some screens and armour, and a more
average thrust with lots of beam dice. As it turned out, the extra FP is
only good if you can roll - my partner Simon was infested with my
terminal Kochte-ism and fired a 10 or 11 dice beam attack and a PT
hitting on a 4+ to score a whopping 1 point. He then proceeded to
(during his first threshold on one of the CMs) find all of the sixes he
had misplaced during his fire turn. This was emblematic of our luck. We
played vector so the battle consisted of a fast closure, a pass with
some close range fire, then hard deceleration and re-engagement. In the
end result, the NI were wiped out (one CM limped off the board with a
damaged bridge). The NAC had a moderatedly damaged BB, a heavily damaged
CA, and an untouched CL. Fun was had by all, and I'm sure Simon and Adem
will be back to play this and other games with Me and Tom M again. We've
planted the hook. Now we need to reel them in... :)

If anyone is interested in seeing any of the ships from the NI side
(other than the Tel Aviv and the Peled which are up on the Brigade Web
Page as SemFed ships), feel free to say so. Make them available on the
web.
