Yes from the description it is an 'Eagle', I have one to. The smaller
more 
streamlined, but similar looking model is the 'Hawk' this appeared as an

enemy fighter version attacking moonbase Alpha in one episode. Although
the 
attack did actually turn out to be an illusion caused by an aliens.
