Even amongst those who love that background, few can actually imagine a
path
from here to there...

I've got to agree with Jon's assessment on blast markers.  They're a
neat
enough idea for making a one on one duel tedious and making fleet
coordination valuable, but the persistence of the blast marker is
illogical.
