Subject: SGII Newbie Question--repost with correct subj line

oooops! How about a re-post with an appropriate Subject line! Sorry!

Howdy All,

I am new to the list and fairly new to SGII (although I have been gaming
for
over 25 years...)

I see a few areas in SGII I would like to modify to suit my taste but I
have
a question about one in particular.

The manual states that a squad's Fire Power that results in over D12 for
a
squad is ignored. I also noticed that most of the squads in the SGII
book
tend to be only 6-8 men, so this is not too much of a problem for THEM.
But
I intend on using larger squads of 9-10+ 'men' (for Orcs and Goblins in
particular).

The first thing that comes to mind for me is to allow the Firepower
factors
to 'wrap' and start over for a second dice based on the squads combined
firepower. Thus a squad with 16 fire power would get both a D12 + D4
(plus
quality die).

Is this 'old hat' for you SGII guys or do you use a different method?
Or do
you guys like the D12 limit?

Thanks,
R. Scott Clinton
