Full Metal Anorak. Obviously a pun on Full Metal Jacket, an Anorak (for
the
benefit of non-UK members) being a nasty zip-up hooded weatherproof
jacket
(usually nylon and in unpleasant colours such as snot green) much loved
by
hikers, ramblers, trainspotters and other individuals perceived as "sad"
by
the majority of Joe Public. As many wargamers fall into this category as
well (at least to the public perception), and at least some of us being
able to take a joke even at our own expense, the Anorak has become a
traditional symbol of the hobby.... <grin>
