Okay. I bought it. Didn't wanna do it, but it was on special. I am weak.

and I like it. It is nowhere NEAR as flexible or elegant asystem as FT.
But
I like it. The ships are very nicely molded (particularly the Imperial
Plastics) and give the feeling of leviathan cruisers maneuvering in the
depths of space. Light ships just die. They handle fighters and bombers
as
one-shot ordnance that fly around and disappear after they attack either
another fighter, a ship, or intercept torpedoes. There is pretty neat
rules
for boarding torpedoes and the Eldar are just plain NASTY (Eclipse Class
cruisers carrying Holofields, Fighters and TWO pulsar lance batteries)
There
is a bit of characterization available to individual ships and rules for
a
campaign game.
