Knowing John's temperment, and how annoying the Mecurians are (8-) I 
was hoping to get the Vespans in on our side when they saw John open
fire 
first on me; thus I could claim that I was being opressed.  (8-)

It was a gamble; too bad the Vespans didn't go for it.	Ah well.
