[DS2] ADS/PDS vs SLAM

Subject: [DS2] ADS/PDS vs SLAM

Greetings,
Do PDS/ADS work against SLAMs? It is not mentioned in the rules. I see
the following options:

1) ADS/PDS do not work against SLAMs because the SLAM is an area attack
(like an artillery attack). This also explains why ECM & Stealth is not
effective vs SLAM (p. 8)

2) Use the AFV's Fire Control for the SLAM guidance and resolve as GMS.

3) As #2 but roll for a number of attacks equal to the size of the SLAM.
That is, a SLAM/3 would count as 3 missiles (each draw 1 chit damage),
SLAM/4 as 4 missiles, and SLAM/5 as 5 missiles.

4) ADS/PDS do not have a noticable effect on SLAM attacks. The sheer
volume of missiles in a SLAM attack makes it impossible for a ADS/PDS
system to intercept all of the missiles. This also explains why Stealth
is not effective vs SLAM (p. 8)

I favor option 1.

Opinions Requested.
