I really need to know about Bulgaria.  It's important for my alternate 
background--New Sofia gets overrun by Nea Rhomaioi, and the survivors 
of whatever force is defending it meet the same grizzly fate that gave 
Tsar Sammuel (I think, and I can't be bothered to look it up) a heart 
attack.
