Tamiya make two different boxed sets of modern US carrier aircraft.
Each box contains 10 aircraft, 2 each of five different types in
1/350th scale. One box has two F-14s in with a a choice of forward or
back swept wings. They retail here for around £5, so I guess that's
about $7-$8 in the US. A fairly expensive way of raising your
Veritech squadrons :-( but on the other hand you could use the rest
of the aircraft (F/A-18, A-7, A-6, EA-6B, Hawkeye, F-4, SH-3) in DSII
games :-).

Alternatively, if you can find FT scale Macross ships, Skytrex in the
UK make lots of 1/3000th aircraft models including an F-14 to use
with their large range of ships. Unlike GZG or Brigade FT fighters
these are cast on fairly thick bases but they're relatively
inexpensive - roughly the same as Jon's Starfuries ... damn ... Star
Tigers (always get those mixed up, can't imagine why).
