I've tried this using the FB vector movement rules. Two effects were
noticable:
1) Screens were virtually redundant. It is very easy to protect your
damaged sides using the vector movement, so each Mass spent on armour
gave you at least 3 extra damage points (making armour *MUCH* more
efficient than the same Mass used for screens). If you use the cinematic
movement system instead, it is much harder to turn away (though the
"Roll
ship" maneuver helps a lot here!) thus reducing the impact of this
change.
2) Since ships were twirling like merry-go-rounds, the only useful
weapons were multi-arc (preferrable 5- or 6-arc weapons).
I liked neither effect very much :-/
