Grav shielding lets you ignore an entire set of weapons classes, some of
the most powerful in the game (lasers) amongst them.  A singly Trajan,
given is incredible mobility and its mega-heavy armouring, probably
/could/ take out an entire conventional army.  Using pop-n-drop attacks
over treelines and hills, depending on its shielding and the penalty
shift
to hit it when doing so, it can easily take out 3 - 4 units before its
taken out, itself; thus, the shielding multiplier of 250% for d12
shields.

Part of the reason that shields are /so/ expensive is that they're
applied
after weapon costs, VTOL(!) and STEALTH,, since they make the whole
element far more effective. Moving the shield cost to just after Armour
and modifying the cost of BVP instead would make them considerably
(lots)
cheaper, but drive up the cost of VTOL and the drive a bit.  I'll
re-structure things like that and see if the next version looks any
better.  :)

The gravs have BASIC FC because you can always upgrade said FC to ENH or
SUP, if you're willing to rework the cost.  This mimics the Expert
System
upgrades in the CENTURION TECHNICAL MANUAL.  I tend to give most RenLeg
missiles ENH FC, unless there seems to be a whim making one more or less
(as on the Scorpion, on which I made the GMS/H BASIC to give it a
/reason/
to use the GMS/L on occasion.
