Germany built one, the Blucher, and may have built another two later
on, depending on how you argue (the S & G of WWII).  Britain may have
laid down three, the wierd sisters (Glorious, Courageous, and Furious)
but they were not completed as originally designed.  All of the ships
laid down as battlecruisers were the size of their contemporary
battleships.  The USN contemplated a class of five that were squarely
between the size of contemporary CA's and BB's, and even finished two
of them.
