Edward James Olmos who will play Adama in the
	new series said:

"There's no two ways around it. If I were a purist, I wouldn't watch it.
Don't
waste your time. Get the old version on DVD. Don't hurt yourself. Don't
go
through the pain."

I tend to agree. Starbuck a *woman* ?!? sheesh.

If everyone wants to see a new series exactly in every detail identical
to the old one, guess what, it will never happen. The idea is to be as
open as possible to a new interpretation of the story. I admit I'm
puzzled by the decision to make Starbuck and Boomer women; I don't get
it. But I'll wait to see the ideas and a new view of things before I
condemn it. It just might be a killer idea that will blow all of our
minds. Or it might be just a slightly different take on an old story.
I'm more disappointed by what I see as a slight to Richard Hatch on this
whole project. According to what I read, Hatch was negotiating with the
studio, which owned the TV rights. Moyer worked with Larson, who had the
movie rights. Now, isn't a SciFi channel series TV? Or am I missing some
crucial developments?
