Well, there were roads and such through the forest. I'm speaking of
an instance where the British managed to get a large number of
Churchills (hardest Allied Tank for the Germans to crack) through a
forest that had no roads through it and was assumed to be impassable
to armor. (as it typically is...)
I've looked through my books to find the specific reference. I seem
to recall that it was just after the Cobra breakout of Normandy and
not all the way into Germany. Somewhere between those two major
phases.
