These aren't Missiles. They are Claymores. Smart ones in some cases. 
But easy to use optical components for most of the hardware. Play out 
some fiber for controls. An LED is great for a source. Light goes 
down the 'wire' and it goes off.

Well if the CDM is strictly electrical you could be playing a nice 
long game and never get anywhere. Electrical blasting caps take quite 
a bit of EMP to make them go fizz. Enough to make them go would 
likely cause problems for all of your Electrical Blastic Caps as well.

Straight up mines don't need electronics at all. Just an initiator of 
some sort connected to a spring/switch, a booster charge and some 
explosives.
