My 20mm WWII tanks have aerials made from thin brass wire - it certainly
stops people leaning on the table (puncture wounds are the result).

I also once saw some modern 1/300th armour with aerials made from think
fishing line - this was pretty much indestructable. Not sure how well it
would work for longer aerials, but it should serve for 15 / 25mm
figures.
