VTOL fighting in DS2

Thanks for the info Brendan, though it is way
overkill for what I needed :)

All I wanted was to make it possible to engage
enemy VTOLs and fighters which are over the
DS2 board. That is to say, if my tank killer VTOL
is hovering slamming tanks into mush, he'd like
to have some defence when the aerospace
fighter comes in to kick his butt. A little 18"
range Stinger or a 36" GMS/L-AA will do just
fine.

And FWIW, Interface capable elements may be
priced at 1000%, but that's insane. Just
because my VTOL has aerospace movement (ie
its the dropship from aliens) in that it comes in
from orbit, that doesn't make it any more potent
over the battlefield. I think you have to consider
what the unit can do on the battlefield and not be
a slave to points <not that you were implying
that>. If it acts like a VTOL (in most respects)
but brings troops in from orbit (which isn't any
different from a faraway base as far as the
game board goes), then I should probably cost it
like a VTOL.

And FWIW, a normal size 5 VTOL can carry a
size 3 MBT if I recall correctly, so a tank
carrying lander isn't necessarily larger than the
game scale. It just means you need a bunch of
them to land a unit of tanks. If it was landing little
jeeps, it could probably land 2 or 3 of them per
lander.

Thanks for the Info. I also liked the DFO for
SG2. I did a conversion for SLAMs that I use for
my Aliens Dropships, but I didn't have one for
DFO yet.

Now if only the only online DS2 vehicle designer
of which I am aware didn't spitback internal
server errors all the time, I could do vehicle
design much quicker....

Tomb.
