Incorrect. One-on-one dogfights are simultaneous, but MULTIPLE GROUP
dogfights ("furballs") are resolved with the squadrons firing in
initiative order  (FB1 p.6).

Yes, if the Interceptors attack too many enemy groups at once and/or
don't roll well enough, they'll get mauled too. If they roll well, they
can wipe the enemy fighters out without taking a single hit themselves.
