How about using:
	D4 -> D4-1 -> D4-2
    ?

And at the other end:
	D10 -> D12 -> D12+1 -> D12+2 -> D12+3 -> D20
    Where the averages are:
	5.5    6.5    7.5      8.5	9.5	 10.5
    ?
