Just how many troops are being transported?

Answer this, and you are well on your way to scenario/campaign design. 
I opt 
for Traveller style (Divisions and Corps) for the campaign.  A Brigade
landing 
force might not have the support base to conduct extended ops.

Scenario wise, a short Battalion (2-3 Company teams) is about the upper
end for 
DS, and a reinforced Company for SG.
