On a related vein...

For 15mm Stargrunt, I'm just starting to kitbash a VTOL gunship, using a
pair of 1/144 scale kits - one A10, and one Russian Hokum 'copter.

I'm using the Hokum's body, but leaving off the weapon wings & rotor.
Parts of the A-10's wings will go on top, with the A10 engines at the
end
of the wings, in a 'tilt turbine' arrangement. I'm also going to rebuild
the Hokum's tail, using a mix of chopper & A10 parts. Weapon hardpoints
will go under the high wings, close to the body. I'll be using the A10
wing inverted and shortened, so the wings will have a downward 'crank'
or
droop about halfway along their length.

It should look very cool - the 'dry fitting' I've been doing looks good
-
and it'll even look fairly plausible, I think... Imagine a crossbreed
between a V22 Osprey & an attack helo...

I'll take & scan photos as soon as the creature is done - I want to get
it
finished for the local mini-con in mid-Sept, so I have a definite
timetable to work towards! (I'm also going to be out of town for
DragonFlight starting in about a week...) Must start cutting & chopping
soon!
