	That view is certainly championd by Hollywood and some Police
Departments... :)  Most police are VERY well armed or have quick access
to
firepower.  In some rare cases, the police in one area may be outgunned
(i.e. LA last year during that aborted bank robbery).

	All of the police that I have worked with (Rhode Island and
Florida) caried a high capacity 9mm, and within 60 seconds, could lay
their hands on a shotgun, MP-5, or AR-15.
