Anything by Rick Shelley, in either the 13th Spaceborne, or the 2nd
Commonwealth/Confederation series. Some 'techno-thrillers' that delve
into
near/mid-future weaponry (Ralph Peters, others). If you want to
simulate
any particular genre with a high degree of accuracy, you might as well
play
with rules for that genre only. Every system dedicated to a particular
concept (Ogre, Mecha!, etc) will treat it's focus material with greater
care than a generic system. Nature of the beast.
