As a long time IRC'er i feel i might have some information you
all
may find useful. EFNet is one of the larger "mainstream" IRC networks.
Any of the GUI based clients available for download such as PIRCH32 or
mIRC have these servers included. Another alternative is a smaller
network
of 4-6 servers called EvilNet. It is a network of IRC servers that is
set
up and maintained by wargamers, mainly people who play heavy gear or
battletech, but any wargaming is very welcome. It would be very easy for
us to register a channel there and maintain it. EvilNet is run by Phil
Benton (spectre@surfnetinc.com). The main server for EvilNET is
irc.evilnet.com, port 6667. Hope this helps
