In a message dated 97-01-21 00:36:37 EST, you write:
<< Hello:
< OK, I get it now, it's a modified Adam and Eve story. My main
problem
< with all of this is how does all-female society prepetuate itself?
How
< do they.....errrrr..."do it."
Well, as I pointed out in my earlier post, the Paranoids don't "do it"
(though the question does remain if romantic relations still exist).
Instead
they are grown in artificial wombs, or vats. How old they are at
decanting
and how much more development they require before being considered an
adult
is not covered.
< Mark's Overall Review:
< I'm sorry, this was a real downer for me. When I first starting
< watching it with the space combat and things going "boom," I thought
it
< was going to be cool. It quickly went downhill from there. If your
< looking for a lots of capital ships battles and (Joe Bob Briggs MODE
< ON) nek-kid breasts (Joe Bob Briggs MODE OFF) watch it. If your
looking
< for something with a plot, avoid it like the plague.
Sorry you felt that way. I personally enjoyed it and while saddened,
was
pleasently surprised that the ending was not formula "Happy Ending".
Again,
Japanese culture in which self-sacrifice holds a very noble place
(GUNDAM is
rife with it, as is Starblazers/Yamato. Also Ninja Scroll). I must say
I
felt very tight in the chest as the Star Leaf warped out and Luffy is
left
behind in the debris field, the Bronz-D following it's core directive of
"protect".
The story seemed to deal more with questions of duty, comradeship, and
confronting the unknown and "change".
< Later,

To each their own. I would encourage you to try the other two films.
Also,
check the follow-on anime Rhea Gall Force, which has alot more of the
battle
action you may be looking for. A Terminator 2029-style film.
