>From my reading the point wasn't about realism, but about fun, and/or
what makes a good game.  If your opponent can out-maneuver you, are
impervious to your weapons, and kill you in a wide array of
interesting, painful, and gruesome ways, it's not really much of a
fight, and a *game* is primarily about having a good contest between
sides.
