Recent episode of the Clone Wars series has another primitive race, the
Talz
(Muftak's species for those of you in the know) that were savage, big,
fuzzy, stone-aged warriors on an ice planet. These ones had cavalry too.

Are you somehow implying that said Ewoks were in fact NOT fierce  
killing machines but simply plot devices?  ;)
