I was in an APA ostensibly based out of Toronto from 1989 to 1994, and
sometime around 1992 we had the same conversation with Americans in
the APA.
To give you an idea of how far Americans have advanced in caffeine
technology, my choice is Crystal Light Energy. You add Crystal Light
flavor crystals to water to give it a fruit flavoring. You can buy
them in packets for pitchers of water, or in boxes with little bottled
water sized packets. Crystal Light Energy has 120 mg of caffeine for
one bottle of water! This is about the same as a cup of coffee, and
twice what's in Mountain Dew (but half of what's in Jolt).
(Crystal Light Focus has 80 mg, and you can now buy Crystal Light
packets in little plastic packages.)
I made it home from GenCon in one piece thanks to Crystal Light
Energy...
