as Tech Priests!

That makes a lot of sense. This goes so far too. How often do you hear
folks ascribing various superstitions to technology of all sorts. Your
car won't start you will definitely chant something nad pray to god it
does. If you hear a knocking sound in the middle of nowhere, you will
baby talk it and beg for it not to break down.

I once attended a dinner party with some friends of my wife from her
high school days. They had all moved into the IT field since last she
hung out wth them. It was very strange hearing people speak in fluent
tech speak and actually, and this is no joke, telling jokes in computer
language and L33T speak or whatever it's called. This is no stereotype.

I remember turning to her and saying, "And you call me a geek for
playing with army men."
