The remote sensor drone is essentially the equivalent of a 19th
century cavalry scout. You blocked cavalry with cavalry. Send out your
own remote sensor drone with a cheap weapon mounted on it, designed to
take out, or at least impede, the other sensor drone. Even a shot gun
would be enough to force the other guy to put more armour on it. Then
you end up with the same escalation that went through World War One
aircraft. Meanwhile, your remote gives the other side no more
information than their remote gave your side.
