[GZG] [DS][SG] [Brushfire]Narrativecampaign [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Since the list is relatively quiet (and I'm bored at work) I'm going to
run
a short "narrative" style skirmish between forces.

Forces:
Players pick a general force of approx company strength (approx 80-130
men
including vehicle crew and support personnel).	I only want a general
ORBAT:
ie: 8 squads of 8 men (ACRs + 1 SAW; 1 anti-air unit, 1 anti-tank unit)
+ 8
size 3 hover transports with twin RFAC/1 + 4 size 4 hover MBT with
DFFG/5.
You can supply "colour" information about weapons and featured
personalities.
I will adjust the ORBAT loosely based on DSII point values (ie:
aerofighters
and nukes will seriously dig into your available forces).

Situation:
A mercenary force under contract to <pick random government> have taken
control of <pick random objective>. There is a time pressure to recover
the
objective by local forces. If not taken by dawn, the mercenaries will
have
gained a major foothold in the forthcoming war.

Strategic Map:
On a 10x10 grid (x-axis: A-J; y-axis: 1-10) the following features (not
to
scale).

D3: Town of Queztatol
H7: Town of Kimpo
J2: Town of Deadwood
I6+I7+J6+J7: Lake
A8-F6: Beggars Canyon
The terrain is generally broken with rolling low hills. The hilltops
are
generally sparse, with light woods scattered through the low valleys.
The
Canyon is heavily wooded and impassible to non-grav vehicles.

Resolution:
Once I have initial forces and assigned them a starting area, I will
resolve
activities in "turns" based on the strategic plan of each player and the
composition of forces making contact. The list will get a public short
story of unfolding events and then players can submit new orders.
Players are considered to be "armchair commanders" giving orders from
far
distant command posts, so won't have direct tactical input. (Think
"Hammer's Slammers" short story format, where you play Hammer).

To participate:
First 3-5 players submitting ORBAT to the list, I will deploy forces
(mixed
in both public and private format, based on intel resources) and play
from
there.
I don't expect to run this longer than 1-2 weeks, but may do another
later
in the year if inspiration strikes again.
