Subject: [GZG] Heavy weapons dispalyed on figures
Do you field Heavy Weapons (APSWs, LADs, GMS/Ls) along
with small arms (ARs,Pistols) and support wepons
(GMS/Ps and SAWs) in your forces on the table?
I was thinking of doing so for my Indonesian
Commonwealth troops. I have two sets of 1/35 US
WW2/Korea weapons I can use. I was debating between
the M2 .50 cal. MG or the M1919AG LMG as an APSW.
Which do you envision as more of an APSW with a two
man crew?
I am considering using the M1857 mm RR as a GMS/L
weapon. Would thta seem workable with a two or three
man crew? Or would it's historical usage detract from
the suspension of disbelief too much?
I also am thinking about using a two man crew and the
2.36 inch R. L. {"Bazooka"} for a LAD. I may need to
modify these a bit to look more futuristic but I think
the scale difference may make it more LAD'ish then if
it was 'in scale.'
I considered the BAR M1918A2 as a APSW or a SAW but I
think it may (with a scope on top) make a better Heavy
Sniper Rifle. What do you think?
Finally, If I decide to convert a figure (now *) to
carry the M1919AG LMG or the "LAD" or the BAR/Sniper
Rifle does anyone have any definite ideas about which
figures are better candidates for conversion?
* In the future I thinking converting some figures for
a close assault specialist squad - possibly with the
M3 SMG ("grease gun") or MA1A1 SMG (Thompson) or
shotguns from another source.
Gracias,
Glenn Wilson
